Ilford Delta 3200 (pulled to 1600) (2025)

Updated: Nov 4

Ilford Delta 3200 Professional is an ultra-high speed black and white film, ideal for low-light, available light, and fast-action photography where flash is prohibited or unwanted, such as concerts, indoor sports, or night scenes. While it has a nominal sensitivity of EI 3200, its true ISO speed is closer to 1000, but it's engineered with a wide exposure latitude to be effectively shot and developed anywhere from EI 400 to EI 6400 or even higher. It features a modern tabular grain structure (Ilford's Core-Shell crystal technology) that, while yielding noticeable grain—especially in 35mm—provides a pleasing, unobtrusive, and less 'muddy' grain compared to pushing traditional slower films. Delta 3200 generally offers subtle tones and medium-low contrast, providing a smoother, grittier look than its competitor, Kodak T-MAX P3200.
