Meet the Documentary Photographer

A generally curious individual who through this website tries to combine his passion for history and photography.

My first camera was a Nikon FG-20 which my Dad bought me in 1984. While i still occasionally shoot 35mm film, I enjoy the convenience of digital photography.

The idea for this website came about when I was trying to get my kids interested in their local history. I would map out a walking tour of historically significant locations and read to them the history of the building, location, statue or monument. Also, having lived over 20 years in Singapore I felt it's about time I understand the history of this country better. This site is not limited only to Singapore.

The history I mentioned are works of other researchers and I've listed the source of their work. The photographs are mostly mine. You are free to use this site for your own educational purposes and I hope it will be as fruitful for you as it is for me - and hopefully my kids.
